Okay here's the deal. I want to do a car for the next project but i'm on the fence. I would love to do a 2nd gen Camaro and I have this one available and the price is right @ 10 grand. It comes with 2 interiors and it's pretty solid car. It was painted 18 year ago and the owner just let the car sit and has never finished it. It's appears to be an original 4 speed car with Power Disc brakes and Power Steering.

ps - i would have no intention of restoring it, i would build it.

marty... thats a good deal.
I have never seen a 2nd gen dash that didnt curl up like that.
thats nothing new.
the rest of the car looks to be better than the average in the common "spots" of age.
my brother had a 2nd in high school but sold it when he got married..... he should've kept it and sold his wife instead.

Looks great! It'd be a great car to get running, have some fun with, and slowly assemble parts and a plan. The paint looks good in the photos for 18 yrs.old!

I'd build it, looks nice and solid. But the price seems a little much though. If you can score a better deal it would be worth it.

Seems like you could use a new project now that the 57 is wrapped up and there's a light at the end of the Syborg tunnel!

Looks like a clean car but I agree the price is a little steep for a roller. Who cares if it's a real Z/28 if you plan to redo it anyways and that paint color sucks so that would have to go and i'm sure the owner is factoring that into his price but when you sell an unfinished car, you need to eat that, especially 10 years later.

You can still find those pretty reasonable and I'd love to see your twist on one so get on Craigslist or beat that guy down a few grand.

It does look like a solid car overall and would make a great project! I do agree with Jason 10K does seem a little high. I know it has been a couple years - but I had found this car http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=960&highlight=1970 on Craigslist for $4,000, so they are out there to be found. I orig bought it as a project for my brother and I, but those plans feel through. It too was a very solid car. If you want, I have a buddy of mine who has a couple of these that may part with. One is 72 SS/RS and one is 70 Z/28. I can check into if you like and let you know.

Sounds good.... thats exactly what I would do to it (kinda). Those 2nd gens look killer with a fat tire.

Cool.....the question is will this one get out of hand to? Or will you stay within that budget that we talked about?

You need to figure in your budget, all the trips you need just to take pictures of the build.

I think it would be cheaper to send Kenny to a Photography class at the local Community College.

Yep, it has taken me forever to commit to my next project. However it's going to hit the warehouse till Syborg is done.

btw - please don't tell my wife.

Marty, I would just buy mine!!!

Your first camaro was one of my inspirations. Then you built the second camaro and then i saw the DSE camaro and i was hooked.

so it's all your fault Teddy.

just to be different i may tt this one.

Main goal will be driveability and reliability.

Second priority is a back seat so I can take my kids with me on cruise nights.

I'm going to spend a couple months thinking about this build before i even start it. I don't want to do things twice on this project.

ps - it's also your dad's fault for painting the DSE camaro.

Yep i did get a good deal on the car. I bought less interior and 12 bolt rearend. I figured i didn't need and interior since i know Tracy can build a nice one for me.

If it's like everything else you do, there is no doubt it will look right!! We'll all have to get together at SEMA, over a few drinks of course, and see how we can spend Marty's $$. It's always fun spending other people's money!!

Just thinking about building another car may make me come out of sobriety and Sema seems to be a good place to start dring again.

I would see if you could get it for about 8k. Then I would sell the passenger seat belt buckle to me for about 5 bucks so that I would feel safe with my son in the car. hehe
