This is just an initial mockup to ensure fitment (less shine and proper hardware) but thought it looked cool all the same and wanted to share. This setup is the brainchild of Marcus at SC&C (http://www.scandc.com) and is called the Street Comp A6 pakage for A-bodies. He did all the custom fab work including the boxing of my lower arms which you can see looks amazing!! I had all his raw material powdercoated and what you see is the colors we're sticking with. This sytem is the first of it's kind for A-Bodies and should be good for my lateral-g goal :)
I also am including a pic that was just sent to me from my drivetrain guy Frank at RPM Dragracing (http://www.rpmdragracing.com) of my 4l60E that is finished (Shrifter compatible, of course!). Pretty soon I'll be able to show you the trick aluminumn driveshaft and 8.8 Ford rear he's fabbing up for me...wait till you see the rear suspension!! Both Frank and Marcus worked together on my rear setup and i'm holding Frank up because I just now sent out my rear brakes to him. Sorry Frank!

Right now we're are in full SEMA swing and progress is steady. Stay tuned for updates and more info on the car is on our website www.zefhix.com

Note the deep pan and bellhousing adapter. We'll be painting the motor and trans the same color as the car. The trans will handle over 900 ft/lbs of torque and features a lock-up 2400 stall converter..

on your website i see tubular lowers that use coilover like mounts... what happened to make you use the stock lowers instead? regardless i dig the whole concept..... but then again i have a soft spot for 70 chevelles :D

Nice!

What upright is that? C5?

Was the steering arm fabricated too?

Did all this come with the kit?

Good eye!! On my website we used file footage of the Comp G5 setup from SC&C that was installed on a G body. I liked the idea of boxing my lowers and it only added 3 lbs per arm. Also, in my situation tubular lowers wouldn't be benificial to the geometry that was already being corrected. This is the entire kit as you see it.

Marcus fabricated the steering arm and it is a C5/C6 (same part #) knuckle that was trimmed and modified by him as well. He also boxed the lowers for me. He is a phenominal talent in our hobby. I hope you guys see that!

Freakin sweet dude. The parts make way more sense ON the car.

We still on for tomorrow?

Keith, nice pics! I`m pretty sure that should read +6lbs./pr. for the LCAs though.

Mark, like Keith said the uprights are C5/C6 CNC machined to compliment their use in the package. The steering arms are CNC`d 7075 T-6. It`s all part of the soon to be released A-6 package. Normally it comes with complete brakes,hub/bearing assys. etc. Brakes can range from std. C-5 13" to Baer 6 piston/15". There are several UCA variations also. Marcus

Booyah.

Looks like a great step up over the current B-body swap. :unibrow:

Any prelim pricing Marcus? How about some hard numbers on bump steer / camber gain / RCH / etc?

Also, how is track width and hub height compared to stock/B-body?

Keith, looks great, can't wait to see what you have in store for the rear and the completed car.

Not knocking the package but with all that work how did the RC migration wind up at over 1.5" . Seems a little on the high side for basically a scratch build. Maybe the PT screen shot on Keith's site is not from this package, in that case please disregard.

BTW, spindles look real nice.

Sorry Dennis, we haven't updated the pics yet. The pic on my site is actually that of the G-Body setup. Mine is vastly improved and hopefully Marcus will chime in with the details...

Denny, those numbers are for the G-5 package. Let`s remember here that there aren`t all that many modern cars with a RC migration of less than 1.5" at 1"dive/2* roll. Considering that the G chassis starts out with over 10" (!) I`m pretty proud of the overall improvement! The A-6 has less than 1" RC migration, how much less depends on tire height, wheel offset, ride height etc. etc. You know that I don`t have to tell ya. Honestly once you get under about 2"-3" IMO you`d have to be a pro driver on a racetrack to notice any more improvement. Even then there wouldn`t be any tangible performance gain. Camber gain is roughtly 1*/in. at a conservative ride height. More so if it`s lower and of course it`s a rising rate. RC height is around 3" or just under, again depending on all those pesky variables. When Keith`s car is together and I have ALL the data I`ll be able to tell you exactly what everything is for *that car*.

I should point out that neither G-5 or A-6 (they`re very similar and share many of the same components) are in any way scratch built one off setups. They`re well scienced out bolt on kits that require absolutely NO frame mods, welding etc. They`re no harder to install than the tired old B swap. The last G-5 conversion we did here took about 4 hours including bleeding the brakes and setting the alignment. I course I do them a bit more often than most folks. :P There are a number of these kits out there approaching 20,000 trouble free street/track miles too. Pricing? G-5 starts at $2695.90 with factory C-5 brakes,hub/bearing assys. etc. A-6 includes our modular LBJs and some other odds and ends that add a bit to the price. It`s not carved in stone yet but a complete package should be about $2875. We`ll also be offering both kits less brakes for those who want to get their own or you can substitute any Baer brake package that fits a C5. Marcus

Very good numbers Marcus, esepcially considering it's all bolt on and go!

Now, if you combine that combo with longer LCA's and run more backspace on the wheels to decrease the scrub radius more... :unibrow:

Just wondering, what configuration can you get those modular LBJ's in? My current GW LCA's are setup for F/B-body lowerballjoints to drop in with no machining required. Reason I'm asking is that I'm planning to upgrade my suspension (again) sometime this year and I'm in the preliminary planning stages... I'm currently leaning towards using custom +2" (or thereabouts) LCA's but I want to explore all options, and one of those options would be to keep my current GW lowers and live with the larger scrub radius. I'm hoping there's a modular balljoint available I can press right in.

Again, the combo looks great Marcus. One last thing, what's the ride height drop and track width change compared to stock A-body spindles? I want to know as a point of reference to compare to my current B-body spindles.

Now to get off my butt and go find another good frame to start building a 3-link on. :)
