View Full Version : To flush mount or not to flush mount, that is the question!

The 68 Camaro I am building has rust in the window channels and a lot of it needs to be replaced anyway.

I love the look of flush mount glass. When I was up at the TA Nationals I fell in love with the glass on the YO Bandit car.

So, should I go flush mount the front and rear glass? I know it is a lot of work, but if the window channel needs replacing anyway, why not go for it?

Advice?

My opinion is depending on the color and finishes you go with will determine to leave the window trim or not. If your going to smooth everything off the body then flushing the glass will fit the theme. But if you going to leave all the trim, marker lights, etc then I would leave the glass trim.

But flushed glass does look frickin cool!

I am going to shave most of the trim, but leave the door handles and marker lights and all. I am shaving the drip rails as well.

I think I would flush mount it. like you said you have to do work anyway. I love how that looks on those cars.

It adds a little extra, subtle as it may be, it looks good.

Any picks of the flush mount? I have never seen this.

Looks good, but so did fender flares and louvered hoods at one time.

But the flush mount glass would be a case of moderation, where flares and louvered hoods are a case of excess.

No one ever said putting too little of something on a car was gaudy! :P
