i have a 63 ford galaxie and it has an original 9 inch rear end i and i put discs on the rear and i had problems with the axles wobbling so therefore i couldnt use my disc brakes in the back i added new currie axles and it still does the same thing i tried it with just the tire mounted and the tire did the wobbling actions like it did with me just watching the rotors themselves could my housing be at fault and all the bearings and everything are new so if anybody could give me some helpful info on thisid appreciate it

did you replace the axle bearings when you replaced the axles.

everything on the axles are new, everything inside the axle housing is orginal about 44 years old

Are the bearing races tight inside the housing? Does it do it on both sides?

if i wasnt sure the housing is straight try puting a level on the housing flanges turn it in a full 360 see if it stays level if the housing is bent or broke it should show up there.since everythings that old id fully strip it replace every bearing in it and rebuild or replace the 3rd member.

if the housing is bent...it wont wobble. the tire will just be out of alignment. if the outer bearings are good, and they fit the housing tight, then the problem sounds like a bad carrier bearing. a lil slop on that end of the axle will cause a bunch of wobble on the outer end. i would immagine that you would be getting some type of gear noise if its that sloppy..... pull the 3rd member and check it out before you start spending money.

that sounds like a good idea i will do that i really dont want to buy a new one but u know rebuilding the old one and saving some money wouldnt hurt im almost 99% sure that the third member could be causing that thanks for the info

Before you do ANYTHING.... check to make sure that the rotor will seat on the axle correctly. Mostly what you are looking for is that the rotor ID for the register fits over the axle register itself... and that there is enough of a chamfer on the ID of the register hole so that it fits over the axle register.

If all you did is add disk brakes to the rear end... I can almost guarantee that this is your issue. Since you have not changed anything else... this would make the most sense.

well i did all of that when i put them on the first time i tried putting just the wheel on there and it does the samething with the just the wheel so its not the rotors
