New Here Need Help on Suspension

I searched and everything but i dont know what direction to go i want a hardcore road race/auto x suspension that has good manors on the road cause it's my daily driver my suspension is stock i own a 69 camaro ss with a LS1 but i have a unlimited budget so far i have saved i good 12,000 dollars im 16 and i also take it to school please help and can you help me on brakes so far i was thinking bear brakes but could use some help i know alot about cars and me and my dad are goin to do the suspension toogether i just ned to know what i need before i buy oh yeah for got to tell i nedd it to support
500 hp and 580lb/ft of torque so thanks for your help:)

yeah i really plan on doin that to the rear withe penske coil overs with hyper coil springs i plan on doin every option on there excpet the corvette brakes i like the strange stuf thats on the sight but not sure for the front yet need more help but thanks i really thon im goin for dynamics

the 3 link install is not for the faint at heart the crossmembers are a pain to install but well well worth it. It is an awesome kit with lots of adjustability. good luck

I've never installed one but from what I've read and from what Travis is saying, I have also heard that they are not for the faint of heart! You're going to have to cut out part of your floorpan to accomodate the correct geometry along with giving you enough room to move the bar up and down for adjustment! From what I've seen, if you want a back seat you'll need to do a split bench in the back nut I'm sure there is a way of doing it and still retaining your back seat! Call Mark Magers at Lateral Dynamics! They are a sponsor on this site!
For brakes, you should go with Wilwoods Superlite 6 big brake kit! You'll probably also want to pick up ATS's spindles! Ask for Tyler! He's a sponsor on this site also. Control arms? DSE! You may want to consider there triangulated 4 bar for the rear also!

reboot04 is right! I have the Lateral Dynamics 3-link in a 69 Camaro. (in fact it's the red one on the Lateral Dynamics web site)
It is a work of Art. Email or call Mark he is a very nice person to work with and really knows what he is doing. On his web site it also shows how to install it so you can get an idea if it is something you want to tackle.

If you will take the time to put it in correctly, then get a kick ass front sub-frame from Art Morrison or DSE, you will have about as good of a suspension set up you can get for a '69 Camaro.

There are however several very good vendors that have tackled the '69 Camaro in several different ways and have had really good success with them.

I am biased for sure, but I do know for sure the 3-link works and works great. For me it is the pinnacle of what is available on the market for the rear end of that car. Take a look at his sight, www.lateral-dynamics.com. I think you will be impressed.

The car has 550 hp, and the back end is very stable and tracks great as the tires bake away.

I'm sure there will be many people who will endorse what I have said, or give you their solution to the issue. In any case have a great time with your father while putting it together. It will surely be something you will remember fondly for the rest of your life.

Mine is set up in a good "general" configuration, so far I haven't had a need to even touch it yet as so far as it has done everything I wanted to do without fail.

BTW: Frank at "Group Purchase", (another sponsor on this site, see the Yellow button), and Mark Magers from Lateral Dynamics are also Wilwood Brake Dealers. Both are extremely fair and can set you up with a great system. I got the Wilwood 6-piston, 14 inch disk in the front, and the 4-piston, 13 inch in the back. They look Killer!

sorry for the miss spellings but so far im goin with the lateral dynamics for the rear me and my dad are goin too do it together he's a ase master technician and has a masters in enginering he says it will be easy but most of you say its not for the faint of heart lol and im also goin with willwood brakes all the way around thanks for the replys but i stil ant make my mind up wiht the front i love the ATS chicane LM but i love the SC&C control arms need more help

Go for the Chicane front setup. Of everything I have seen, this is probably the most complete and aggressive package you can bolt on (a little welding for the upper mounts).

is there any other choices that are hard core for the front but good on daily driving please more help so far i really like the ats setup but can i order then with the SC&C control arms

dont mess with baer brakes unless you get the 6 piston ones baer are just restamped pbr. pbr are the same brakes on the c4 and up corvette same ones on the last gen camaro and newer mustang.you can get a set of c5 front brakes cheaper then baer and its the same thing.

another endorsement for Lateral Dynamics. I installed they're 3-link in a 69 Camaro as well. Not very difficult, just VERY tedious and time consuming.
