On a road trip forgot a radar detector. I have had them all, does any one have a definitive answer on the best radar/jammer I can buy??
Thanks

My experience has been that Valentine One is the best. I have two and they have paid for themselves many times over......Until Saturday evening. Heading to hotel on Highway 37 from Infineon raceway at a good clip in my Lightning. All of a sudden the radar detector pegs... Too late for me to slow down. CHP was using a hand held LIDAR whigh is a focused Laser that he nailed me with from over 1000'. It has such a narrow beam that unless you are the car it is pointed at, your detector won't pick it up. When it does pick it up it is too late. I know nothing about the jammers but I don't think they are legal here in Ca.

I don't think there is a definitive answer, but one of the top RD's is Valentine1 Awesome performance! It's saved me a number of times. Here's a great forum discussing all sorts of RD's and countermeasures - http://www.radardetector.net/

Sounds like it is time for a laser jammer

Can you just buy V1 at the store though? He needs it today, right?

Hey, go to any Best buy and pick up the Escort Passport. It's 2nd best to the Va1 and it's a pretty close second. You can pick one up there for $299 I believe.
