Yeah, He's doing both events with the Ultima. This time it actually runs past 5000rpm. Scary to think how fast it was last year and not even running to its full potential. I have to give props to whomever rides shotgun in that animal of a car.

I hit 200 well before the mile marker on all three of my runs in z2z.
I wasn't the only one to hit 200.
It was real windy again this year.
No results will be given until Sunday night for some reason.
A tt viper crashed at the mile marker, driver ok, car not.
Here's a 1400hp trans am that competed.

Tomorrow is the high noon 1 mile shootout.

They posted results. Jeff got 2nd in the Z2Z. A couple cars had crashing issues at the top end. Nothing serious I guess.

I saw that Evo on some show hosted by the Pinks guy. It is a 1994, and looks on the surface like a P.O.S.

All wheel drive made a HUGE difference. The roads are crap out there. Chip coated junk. They lay down pea gravel and then tar over it. If I know Jeff, he won't sleep until he wins the event again. I think next year he might show up with an AWD twin turbo 81 Trans-Am. The wheels in his head were already turning on that project.

After looking at the results, it looks like braking was a problem for him as well.

They said his 0-60 time was 6.4 seconds. Something was off or bad timing. No way his car does it in 6.4.

when your planning on going 200 i doubt 0-60 matters at all.

maybe the crappy "chip sealed" roads had something to do with that too

The car is geared for a theoretical 225MPH. I talked to Jeff and will let him respond as to why the car seemed to perform bad.
My other concern is with the 200mph barrier broken, the lack of experience by drivers may become an issue. There really is no place to safely practice. Maybe these guys have to spend some time at Speed Week in Bonneville to get some idea of what to expect. Even Jeff, with 30 yrs of racing at various levels was nervous at that speed.

I just got back at 1am this morning.
I had my brake bias adjusted incorrectly in Z2Z. All 3 runs had to be done back to back, all done in about 10 minutes, no time to mess with things.
The road is tar with pea gravel thrown on top, difficult to launch.
I got to make one pass in the mile, a viper had blown coolant on the road, the evo ran after me, something blew a hole in the valve cover, oil all over the windshield and he went off the road, crashed.
The event was shut down. Never got to make another pass with the higher boost. 2nd in both events. I'm now one of 3 people in the Optima Batteries 200 mile per hour club at this mile event. I did take 700 feet off my last years Z2Z distance despite going 13 mph faster.
I've done 0-60 in 2.0 with traction.
My car is geared for 235 mph at 7000.
Thanks

Hey Jeff, that is pretty impressive. I figure it's either a misprint of your times, or something else. Where was Big Red this year?
