View Full Version : Garage built Cars???

The only thing I've ever had done on my cars by someone other than myself is paint, AC work, and alignments. Everything else was done by me, and until a few short years ago in a single-stall apartment garage! I still want to do everything myself but time and energy are becoming more scarce then before.
I'm still no body man so the new Firebird project had one big stipulation - the car had to have clean - straight sheet metal to keep paint and body shop expenses to a minimum. Although it will still be built in my home garage (a detached 2-car affair) I still have access to an incredibly well equipped machine shop with digital scanners, numerous CNC mills, an engine shop, dynos, and other tools so I guess I'll be blurring the lines between home-built and pro-built, but the results are not in yet so we shall see! lol

Just saw this thread. Im hoping to do everything myself including the TT 5.3 with the exception of the body work as I dont have the time or the patience to tackle that type of detail work.
I understand I may need to call in help but Im going to try to keep it within my circle of friends. Trying to keep this car as close to home as possible.

Thanks man its a work in progress...I am using a rear axle from a 2002
Z28, currently about 8 inches too wide, need to gut it and get it narrowed.
I am using this axle for several reasons but mostly to keep torque arm setup.

Not a car but garage-built by me....and now torn down again to replace the cab, smooth the firewall and get the gapping perfect over the winter.
My next project is waiting in the wings and will hopefully fit in better with the outstanding builds on this forum....:hail:

I said it before and I'll say it again. I appreciate all the work, craftsman, talent and skill it take to do body mods on these Camaros but, there's just something about a stock bodied Camaro with all the trimmings! That my friend is one beautiful cars that will never go out of style.
Gives some more details on it.
Just love it! Congrats:thumbsup:

Thanks Al!
I bought this as it appears in the first pic. New GM quarters had already been installed and new GM front fenders were included. I built the car pretty much stock appearing with a 383 and TKO. I did everything myself but the paint and body work. I put 2,000 miles on the car the first year or so, but was never quite happy with the car.
In November of 2011 I tore the car apart and rebuilt it like I should have the first time. Only the body was reused. I used allof DSE's suspension pieces, a GMPP LS3, Baer brakes etc. I would have saved $ if I had sold the car and started over, but the body is so solid I hated to let it go.
I sold the 07 Z06 in my avatar to fund the rebuild project and haven't regretted it one bit.

I'm certainly not tired of seeing this thread stay up top. It's great motivation for people such as myself. I think it's also a good place for new people to post a short summary of their car from start to where ever they may be at this point in time without having to create a full on build thread. Only thing I can think to do is either come in occasionally and bump it back to the top should it falter or ask Jody to make it a sticky and see if he'll agree.

Jaded had a minor setback after the Dyno tune.... rear splines lost the battle in the 9 Inch. (twisted off... not enough engagement... some moron forgot how to use a measuring tape when I narrowed the rear axel housing.... DOH!!!) New axles, and some newly minted swearwords later, She's on 4 wheels again. Hope to be able to drive it this weekend... It's fine for it to be presentable at SEMA, but we gots-ta get some seat time in soon!!!

I posted this in my Build thread, this is the first time it's been out of my Garage since I started the build, Hope this doesn't kick me out of the Garage built thread! LOL
ok, here's some pics and vids from the "spa" day at All Aspects. She lined up perfectly straight, set the front camber at -2.5 and the rear at -2, put some shims in the upper A-arms so I can go more positive if I need too. The frame is built so that I can get -5 in the front if I want, and +2 on the other end.
On the Dyno, She put down 407 HP and 385Lbs of really flat TQ across the RPM range. Was hoping for a few more HP, but I'll take it on a 125K bottom end! Click on the last pic for a video on the dyno.

Just started my thread on here and I'm doing as much of my own build as possible and probably a few things that I shouldn't be trying. But Hey, like my signature says, "how hard can it be?" If someone else can do it I sure can at least try my best to do it on my own and figure it out. That's where sites like these come in so handy because when I get stuck there is a whole world of experts and advice only a computer click away.
And here is the latest picture of my car being built in my garage;

man I love this thread ! I would not have guessed there was that many garage built cars out there that makes me proud!!!!!! I have a dream on building 10 top notch cars in a row out of my garage and I must say you guys are going to make this very difficult to make them a cut above because there is some really nice car on here but the love is in the journey as well. here was my first attempt of top notch notice I said attempt it only took 13 years for this one looks like I might have to live till 125 hope to pick up the pace on the next one. LOL.

For those of you with no prior automotive experience that jumped off the cliff and tackled your own cars......how do you build the courage to handle something huge like quarter panel replacement and know if you're doing it right or wrong?
I'd love to try and do it myself, I think its half the fun but getting over that question i posed is a tough thing. I mean how do you know your welds will hold? how do you know if you're doing it correctly?
sigh

Hang out on here and see if you can pick up how others are doing it... or take a class at the community college... There's books you can buy.... there's videos on YouTube... and there's got to be somebody around you that's been there and done that.
Just my .02
I figure if other guys can do something and can do it right - then I should be able to as well. Most get into trouble because they don't START the job correctly -- that's where you need to learn a little bit before you get it screwed up.

I have a neighbor did the same on a 70 Bronco . He started from the front and went to the rear with new fenders ,doors & quarters ,then door hinges :bang:
He welded that puppy up solid too . cant get the doors to fit Hmmmmmm
Get the quarter and door to fit before welding the thing up solid .

The way I approach a new skill is by looking at the project, assessing how badly things could be if I "F" something up, and seeking guidance. I've never taken any kind of automotive training, other than some things Dad showed me as a kid, and I have made PLENTY of mistakes (oh, the stories I could tell)! But just like with everything else - failures are your best instructors!
Funny you should mention quarter panels, I'm considering tackling one myself and have never done so!

Personally I look at it as an opportunity for personal growth and being able to learn some new skills. If I can do it than anyone can and I won't bore you with the details but I've had to overcome some huge obstacles to work on my car. So what happens if I mess up installing the rear quarters on my car? Well, worse case is I have to pay someone to install them properly, and maybe the cost of another set of skins if I wreck these ones beyond use. Big deal! I would have had to buy them and pay for the install if I never tried.
There are tons of resources, youTube, V8TV, forums, etc. so there is no reason not to try. If I throw away the money because of an extra set of skins in the big picture it means nothing . What you need to ask yourself is what if it turns out OK ?

Replacing floors and installing mini tubs in the garage as we speak. Will tackle the interior and body work, but final paint will be by others.
The wife already complains about the smells from the garage, I think paint would put her over the top.

My 68 was built by me in my garage and has the following major upgrades:
* ZZ502 with an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake and Edelbrock Performer 825cfm carb, Holley blue electric fuel pump (makes about 550HP and 575TQ)
* TKO-600 5 speed, 12" McLeod clutch, McLeod scatter shield, Centerforce flywheel
* Global west tubular upper and lower control arms with del alum bushings, Hotchkiss sway bar, fast ratio steering box and power steering
* Moser 12 bolt rear end with Detroit True Trak limited slip, 33 spline axels with tapered ends and pressed on bearings, Ford 9" housing ends
* 3 leaf rear springs with Poly bushings
* SSBC 4 wheel power disc brakes
* Be Cool aluminum radiator
* Flaming River stainless steel steering column with tilt and a Grant Boomerang steering wheel
* Covan Classics Dash insert with all electric gauges (Speedo, Tach, Fuel, Oil, Temp, Amps)
* Solid body mounts
* All new M&H wiring harnesses installed
* Painless Performance Extra 11 circuit fuse block
* Lots of other stuff and extra parts.
* Fiberglass hood with a 96/97 SS Camaro scoop
* 5 spoke 17" wheels with new Kuhmo tires
Still needs body and paint.
It runs strong and pulls like a freight train. I've never had it to the track but it has outrun a C6 Z06 Vette all the way up to about 145mph. Based on the feel compared to my 87 Grand National, I'd guess it will run in the mid to low 11's in the 1/4 mile as is...as long as it's launched well.
In the corners it handles very well. I kept pretty close to a BMW M3 on a local canyon road...he'd pull me a little in the turns and Id get it back between the turns. The M3 driver was blown away at the other end. ;-)
If you go to my youtube page meanchicken87 there are a couple brief clips with the Camaro there.

Maybe a dumb question, but on your picture that shows the 'new' quarter screwed in place for tack/welding, I noticed the screws are on what's left of the existing quarter. Are the two overlapped as in lap welded? I've always wondered. I know when I did my trunk pan, I overlapped, used metal screws to hold in place and used an air body saw to cut through the old and tack as I went along.

The two were overlapped, but I cut the overlapped pieces and butt welded them together as I went along. I used a black marker to draw up the cut lines. You can see it in the picture. Afterwards I went back and welded up the screw holes.

My car is almost 'done' after close to 4 years. I should have started a build thread for it a long time ago...
I've done everything myself except for the paint job, alignment, and dyno tune.
Car needed floor pan, firewall, trunk pan, frame rails, minitub, and tail panel.
I basically tore it down to a bare shell and rebuilt everything from there.
On the dyno it did 655rwhp, and 550rwtq.
For the little bit I've driven it (to dmv and alignment shop), its a pretty fun little ride....

We have been posting pics of a car that was mostly garage built on our Facebook page this week. It's a '66 Chevy II with our complete Street Machine chassis. It definitely leans more toward Pro-Street but it's still a really nice car. The owner did all the chassis, electrical, and body work. He had a friend spray the paint and his local upholsterer did the stitching.

Ok these are both very nice great job guys :hello:

We have been posting pics of a car that was mostly garage built on our Facebook page this week. It's a '66 Chevy II with our complete Street Machine chassis. It definitely leans more toward Pro-Street but it's still a really nice car. The owner did all the chassis, electrical, and body work. He had a friend spray the paint and his local upholsterer did the stitching.

Thanks! Most of our customers are doing the bulk of the work themselves. When Chris started developing the first backhalf kits in the 80s the whole point was to make it simple enough that someone with average skills, and a healthy helping of common sense, could do the job at home on a flat garage floor.
But, since you want me to post more pics, here ya go!
Kevin Graf's '62 Chevy II was built in his one car garage. Adding pics to the Facebook album (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.460024164090543.1073741832.360398240719803&type=1&l=57846aaa08) daily. He did the chassis, cage, interior tinwork, wiring, and the bodywork.

My car's been build in my own garage from start to finish. I tried a body shop at one point, which I thought would save me time and I would have a better end result.
I ended up re-doing EVERYTHING the shop had done, so that was the first and last costly venture to outsourcing my projects...

Having built MANY complete cars on my own -- what really amazes me about this thread - if you go back to page one -- how many guys are not here anymore… And I don't mean they died -- but where are they - why aren't they posting - and did they ever complete the build??
It's real easy to get "burned out" building these cars in a two car garage with inadequate tools or skills - or both… not to mention the costs of just hard parts.

No doubt, and that's a shame. I think a lot of people start with good intentions but no idea of just how much $$$, time, and tools are needed to build a car. I would imagine that often the spouses have even less idea of what is needed! lol

That's why I will always "buy the body, build the drivetrain"...
I try hard to recognize my limitations and avoid them. Bodywork is one of those. Plus it also seems to be one of the tasks that takes the longest and costs the most money.

So how about making this an "OFFICIAL CALL OUT" ?
I'm thinking, If you've posted about your project on here, you still have the car, and if you're just stopped by life or whatever got in the way.... Just give us a sign of your progress or why you are on a brake or if you simply jumped ship 'cause it was (insert reason that apply's) .
What do you think?
Personnally, i sold my project once it was done as i had a guy that WANTED it... ( read : i could not turn is money away! ) and have had a few projects in and out since. I now have an almost all original carthat i enjoy driving.
I also have a basket case project i am looking to start sometime....
Having built a few nut and bolt cars (rotisserie/ show style) i have bought my last car mentionned above (the one i drive) and have a hard time even thinking to change some stuff on it because i know i can undo it, but with 3 little girls (5,9 and 11) i just dont have the time anymore and also, my primary budget is to the house and kids needs so the cars come wayyyyy late in the picture so, I NEVER KNOW WHEN ID GET IT BACK TOGETHER, thats why i keep it all together, that way i enjoy it and so can they. I will prolly do some bolt ons (bars, arms, shocks) but nothing too wild on this one (42k miles 69 Camaro 100% original except fast ratio box and wheels /tires) the other is a 67 Camaro in need of everything and i dont need it running as i have the other one...so im THINKING i could start her slowly, but then the money factor comes in....altough im thinking to do a build style like Ron's Blue mustand and go full frame, i could put time in instead of money. Im at home all the time now (got invalidated from work inciden so i have pretty much all my time) but then its cause of my back....so theres your other factor HEALTH!!
Im just trying to sum up all the variables you can come to think of as to anwser your wondering of "why or where" are the guys..... I have covered a few possibilities just by myself LOL!!!! So....how about you guy's??

I know for me I started my build thread in July of 2010. Since then I have had a MAJOR eye injury and built a pole barn. Interesting that I actually have an appointment with the eye doctor today (just a followup).
The wife and discovered early on that building my car in our two car garage was NOT going to work so well so we built a 40x64 barn for me to work in. You might be asking yourself how I went from a 2 car garage to a 40x64, well all I can tell you is when the wife tells you "I don't think you'll be happy with a 30x40 I think we should build a 40x60 you DON'T SAY NO! :lmao: Of course now we are busy paying the barn off (should have it paid off by May of '14). We had about 1/2 the funds to build it or so we thought but then like most project we spent more than planned! Surprising I know! :topic:
So now that the barn is done enough to work in I have no real money to invest in the car. I have been doing some work here and there but progress is slow. I rather enjoy working on it as I don't get to work with my hands at work much anymore. I would like to say she'll be done in 3-5 years but I'll leave the timing up to God on that one. Currently my goal is to have the shell ready for the chassis by next winter. We'll see.
Well that's my story I will be interested in hearing what others have to say.

I'm building mine at home. I kept waiting and waiting; hoping I'd have enough money to do a '69 Camaro some day. Then, this year, I finally realized that if I don't bite the bullet, I'll never do it. There are so many people that dream about things for years and then never get around to it or something happens to them. I decided I don't want to be one of those guys and if it makes me happy, I'm just going to do it!
So, I sold my 2009 Subaru daily driver and used the funds to purchase a Camaro and the engine/transmission out of a 2004 GTO. Now I'm stuck driving my 1959 Willys truck to work as it's my only other vehicle but the heck with it. I'm doing it. Some of my friends and family think I'm crazy but at least I won't regret not having tried it.
I have been slowly preparing for this as far as tooling up my shop the last few years though and bought myself a 2 post lift this year.
This picture tells most of the story. My old Willys with Wisconsin winter road grime all over it and the GTO pull-out in it. Does that make this a modern vehicle? I mean, technically it has a fuel injected engine "in" it.
43940
Here is the Camaro waiting for it's new heart.
43941
I'm hoping to get it running in time for spring but funds are more of an issue than time for me. I'm going to drive it this summer (hopefully) and then tackle the suspension next winter. I'm hoping to do a better paint job and body work the year after that.
Here's one more of the Willys which I did with my uncle as a project back in High school in '95.
It now has a carbed vortech 350 in it which we slapped in this spring.

And that Camaro does look very nice already so you have your cake already as you get to enjoy it right awayw... Good move!!!
You mentionned high school in 95 so we are about same age i guess, i just turned 41. It would be nice if guys put their candle count so we get a 'curve' of the age and situation of members behind these stories.
Btw... I got a 4 post lift this summer too... Tools are a BIG part of the home builder as i see it. Forking 2500$ out to buy a piece of equipment is a chunk of change we notice. At least i do!!! Last year, my wife got me the Eastwood company's Tig and plasma deal with cart.... One more step in getting a fully equipped shop!!!
Ah man....there i am thinking of the wagon again...thanks buddy!!!

I hear ya on that! We bought me a used Bridgeport (10x54 table) and a used 14x40 engine lathe while we were building the barn. On the plus side I can make just about anything I need on the downside my wallet is about $3800 lighter (including the shinny new phase converter to run the lathe)!
I have already done a couple little side jobs to help offset the investment but not even close to $3800!

Now, don't get me wrong. I love driving my Willys in reasonable doses. I does leave a bit to be desired as far as comfort however. It rides like a lumber wagon (unless you have a complete engine and transmission in the bed, then it's a lot closer to comfortable) and it's obnoxiously loud, but that's my fault. It's not too loud inside, in fact, the wind noises, rattles and squeaks are louder than the exhaust but outside....well, let's say that small children start crying when they hear it coming. :gitrdun:
I graduated in '97. Actually, the Willys was my first vehicle. I bought it for $250 and then we bought a parts truck for $100 and my uncle and I restored it for my junior year. It's....evolved since then.

I'd love to have a lathe and mill. I was a machinist, pattern maker, mold maker and CNC programmer for years and it's still part of my job as a manufacturing engineer to spec what we are going to buy and go and look at new and used equipment. I do more design work than anything these days though. I can always use the tools at work but it's better to have something at home you can just go out and use anytime (and not have to clean up your mess until your damn good and ready) :)
I don't think it will take you too long to get $3800 worth of value from your equipment. I don't think it will take too long to get $2700 worth out of my lift either.

I have a 72 Ford Maverick I have been building. So far the only thing I have farmed out is the transmission build. Beside that, I will have someone else do the upholstery too. Everything else is by me in my garage. Paint will be in a booth, but also by me.
I started with a low mileage car that had been stored inside by a friend for 19 years. Here is what I got in September 2009.....
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii273/hotrod-1947/Maverick/72mav-7.jpg (http://s266.photobucket.com/user/hotrod-1947/media/Maverick/72mav-7.jpg.html)

After making a plan I had this rendering done to visualize my ideas....

And as it sits now ready for final block sanding and paint.

finally got some real brakes on my garage build, z06 rotors and base model front calipers on all fours, 14" front, 13.5" in the rear, and i even made the vette parking brake work. bought all the parking brake parts off gmpartsdirect.com. My drop spindles had crappy g-body brakes, i found a company called flynbye performance that made hubs that allow a vette rotor, and i drilled the spindles for the caliper brackets and cut a spacer for proper fitment. cant wait to stand on them and see how much better they are over 10.5" discs and drums!

Do most of the work (body & paint done by childhood friend).
I bought this car with the chasse already built (drove by PO's garage and fell in love) way over my pay grade. I'm an electrical/drive-ability specialist and designer but can't weld at this level not many can. You all should see his 69 Camaro, you would **** you pants. I'll get some pictures, he's not a on line type of guy. Built my last V8 914 and a 55 ford PU in a "one" car garage. Now its a two car garage stuffed full of car crap and tools. This lift one post works fantastic and really helps out.

Sorry...its really nothing special. I did all the work in my garage minus the paint. My dad bought the car new and it was given to me as my first car in 1981. The suspension is all Global West...leafs in the back and stock style (not coil over) in the front with Koni shocks and Baer brakes all around. The engine is a stock stroke solid roller 302 with 4 speed toploader trans and a 3.89 geared 9" rear. Going to build a new stroker motor soon just cant decide on a stock block 347 or a Dart blocked 363.

Go dart but with a 347... The extra displacement isn't gonna get you any more power and going max bore will only hurt you in the long run when you decide to rebuild it 2-3 times, seeing as this car is gonna stay in the family forever ;-)
-stock blocks split after 400-500 hp so if you go dart and wanted to pro charge it or turbo it later or even use it in another project it'll hold up to 1,000 hp without coming apart or needing a new block after you've wasted all that money cutting a stock block for a stroker....

Thanks...and you are right the extra displacement will not make any difference in power. But the larger 4.125" bore un-shrouds the valves which can make a significant difference in power. Also, max bore on the Dart is 4.185" so there is room for a couple of additional .030 over rebuilds.

Ive built quite a few vehicles out of small garages with no lift.. I was mid way through an F100 desert truck, but I took the mustang out to the track and got bit with the bug to really fix her up, so against the wall the truck went and I tore back into the mustang!

I have the body in place and welded to the 96 subframe. The 03 Cobra suspension is installed. I need to finish scavenging the Cobra before I can make anymore progress.

Home built for the exception of paint and body. Ive been working on my '68 Chevelle in my apartments 1 car garage that I share with my NEIGHBOR. I've had the car before I had a garage so I started working on it outside.
Since I do not have room for an air compressor I'm unable to do metal, paint and bodywork. I've done everything else from the frame to engine. I'm in the process of doing the interior and rewiring the entire car.
I'm sure most of what I do is not allowed. I've already gotten threats from my HOA that if I don't stop that I will be forced to move. :action-smiley-027:

haha, stupid HOA's
they threatened me once because they misread/misunderstood a part of the covenants saying that every lot must have space in the driveway for at least 2 cars (my house had a 2.5 car garage and my driveway enough room for 4 cars, so when I was working on one of the cars in the garage I would move them into the driveway
they would get really mad

Thought I'd share a buddies homemade gow job. Hes got a barn he works out of now but this thing was built at his old house under the back deck. 250ci Chevy 6 with a manual shifted between the legs, hand brake, no seat belt and cruises at 85mph with no issues. It's cool as hell to see blasting down the highway!

Here are a few projects I have punched out of my garage, never any "full restorations" Just "drivers" I would buy them cheap, do some repairs/paint, to get them running, make them presentable and then sell them.
I did a 63 Chevy pickup, it was a salvage title truck bought at a police auction for $150. No engine or trans, just a roller. I put a new engine in a K-5 Blazer for a guy and he gave me his "core" I freshened that up and found a Turbo 400 at a junk yard, the rest of the parts came from Ebay and LMC.
http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj273/carlhognuts57/p6_zpsx5yqacvy.jpg (http://s274.photobucket.com/user/carlhognuts57/media/p6_zpsx5yqacvy.jpg.html)

After it came out of paint, built the bezel from aluminum diamond plate with phantom guages
Built this blown small block before I even had a car to put it in. Bought the car after the engine was built. It was a 62 Nova I picked up off of ebay. Had a built Turbo 400 with 3000 rpm stall converter, pretty mean little set up.
http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj273/carlhognuts57/p8_zpsvbvpc7iv.jpg (http://s274.photobucket.com/user/carlhognuts57/media/p8_zpsvbvpc7iv.jpg.html)

Top row of pictures is a 69 Ford pickup 4x4, 300 6 cylinder 4:56 gears, factory lockers front and rear F-100
2nd row of pics is a 57 Ford pickup, I bought it for $300, the guy rebuilt the engine and powder coated the frame, replaced brake lines and a few other misc items and lost interest. He had to sell it to get it out of the yard it was in before it got scrapped, I wasn't really interested in the truck, but for the money I couldn't pass, just put it together, painted it and sold it. When I got it cab, bed, and fenders were all separated from truck, wiring harness was in a five gallon bucket, it was a text book basket case!
3rd row down is 68 Camaro, it was primer pink with purple pin striping when I got it, it had a small block 400 Turbo 400 trans, someone had welded the sub-frames together with a connector link. I got the car running, new carb, fuel pump, a few other small little repairs, replaced interior with new panels, new carpet, headliner, painted viper red with white stripes on hood and deck lid. My brother in law still has that car.

Here is the fleet I had at the home garage circa about 2002.
I have always wanted to tackle a frame up on my own, but I haven't found the car I want to do yet, I am thinking my next "keeper" car is going to be a 66 or 67 Chevelle if I can find one that is worth rebuilding, I think I will always have to "farm out" trim work and finish interior work, because I just don't have the skill set required for that type of work. My 64 Vette, I bought it with 900 miles on frame off restoration, my 57' I have done all the mechanical work on and the paint and body work was done at a shop.
Nice looking rides everyone, you guys do some amazing work, very cool looking at everyone's rides and projects in the works. I love old school muscle cars! Keep on Keeping on!

It took me min to figure it out to. I was able to fix two of them for you. You can use the last of the four codes listed and just cut and paste as one option. The other is when you are typing out your post there is a tool bar at the top. Select the icon I boxed in this example.
https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-rFNL6JP/0/L/i-rFNL6JP-L.png
There will be a pop up that looks like this:
https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-CLNP38W/0/L/i-CLNP38W-L.png
Paste the link into that box and you're good to go. Make sure you delete the text highlighted in blue though. It's easy once you find the right button to push.

Long time reader. First time poster here. The pictures aren't of a pro-touring/corner carver. But I thought I'd throw them up here as I work on finishing up this car and getting started on the one which I'll be more actively participating on this forum with.
Here's the one I'm finishing up, I've done everything myself except for the powdercoat that A local friend did an excellent job on!:

My plan is to get paint and a few other things finished up on the 47 Twin Turbo Chevy Sedan Delivery and then start on my new build:

That pile happens to be 'some' of a 1973 Dodge Challenger. (Beside it is a 1967 Lincoln Continental, fun car, not worthy of a build thread)

Thanks! It's been a blast to build. 5.3 with cam and springs handle 10 psi really well and I'm thinking about turning it up a bit more. I went to a dyno day last year and got beat (by 10hp) by an LSA swapped fairlane, so I'm tuning for a boost solenoid I installed. It has a Tremec T56 backed up with a Ford 8.8.
