I knew I had some pitting on the passenger side quarter, just not this bad. This is a victim of the vinyl top from years ago. I want to make a patch panel for it, however, several body men that I have talked to said to media blast it, etch primer, and then fill it. It has some holes that I want to at least spot weld if we do decide to fill it instead of patching. What do you guys think?

your doing a roof and rear window filler buy a full 1/4 and cut what you need off it or intall the whole 1/4, would be way better then dealing with that mess 4-5 yrs down the road

+1

there is no way your gonna weld up the actual holes, it would be like hitting a tissue with a pressure washer....and just gonna make a bigger mess. the best thing to do is replace atleast the section that is bad.

WHat most people don't understand is that once rust is in a panel, it'll never leave. +2 for what was said above. If your gonna go the budget road and don't wanna do alot of sheetmetal work. I would at least neutralize the rust with PPG DX590 I belive it is, or POR-15. then do ur filler work. But make sure u treat it from the inside if possible. Good Luck

If anyone has a 67-68 Camaro passenger side quarter that may have been damaged in shipping, let me know. I need one to patch this mess.

Patch that.... dont be a hack and cover than with mud. It will come back to haunt you later. Maybe in a less conspicous area that no one willl ever see but not at that spot.

Just dont do it !!!

Led it up if the rest the quarter is in good shape. Fixing that area with a rust neutralizer & led filler is better than replacing a good quarter!
