WOW! better than I expected

It's painted! I just about crapped my pants when I went in the booth! Needless to say, I'm extatic. I guess you know how I feel now. Don't feel bad if you don't agree:lol: To each his own but I love it. I can't get over how good the carbon fiber came out. In case your wondering, it's all painted on. Seriously though, what do you guys think?

Love the Pictures.

It is very similar to what I have been, "Planning" for my build. I love the CF hoods, Deck lids, spoilers etc. so,

My plan of painting my 69 Camaro goes like this:

Dominant Color: Red (Specific Red yet to be determined) and taking CF Hood, Deck lid, Spoiler etc. and Taping off the Z/28 Stripes before painting the CF parts red. Then instead of painting the stripes black later, use the natural color of the CF to show through as the stripe colors themselves, thus having CF Stripes. From one end of the car to the other. I think it would give a killer look to a, "Standard", Camaro Paint Scheme.

Traditional, yet Unique at the same time.

I think it would be a cool way to Design the paint job and naturally show off the CF.

Is this similar to what you had in mind?

Looking at your striping shows a very cool technique. Yours will probably be a lot more cost effective than what I want to do. In any event, I can't wait to see it when it is completed. I'm sure it will look very cool.

In the mean time, I'm hoping a number of different CF parts will make it to the market so I can get mine painted in the relative near future.

Ty, that's a cool idea, MCR did that with their Cuda. But to do that on a 1st Gen, you'd also need a CF header panel, cowl vent panel, and rear window fill panel as well as the CF hood, rear spoiler and deck lid.

As you mentioned there are still some parts needed to pull it off, but I think it can be done by:

1) After Market Supply Companies - CF parts are becoming more common and the 1st Generation Camaro's would be a good niche to hit Early. As in the Rice Burner Market you see more and more of these parts being made for these cars.

2) Laying up CF is not impossible to do and there are a number of companies in the D/FW area that supply parts to the aerospace industry. They are accustomed to small runs, or, Materials, Vacuum bags etc are available for sale so it can be done by a small shop once splashes are taken from original parts.

The important part to me would be to integrate CF into the paint job directly, and using the Visual Texture of CF to add uniqueness. I think it would be a natural for a PT car. Plus, IMO CF is a Beautiful thing to behold.

I would love to see the PT Market merge more of this into it's projects, and unless things change a lot, that is where mine is headed.

Then at least one '69 Camaro would be different to look at again instead of the, "Not Another one of these again!" Groans.

Impressive paint job. The red (candy apple red??) is really nice together with the CF, that gives an real nice contrast. And with the CF "look" on the stripes it will look like grey/black stribes from a distance an when you go closer you will think wow.. :thumbsup:

Well, it sure does look pretty just sitting there, but her soul is empty. No engine, interior, trim, wiring, plumbing. I got a little painting to finish up in the basement this weekend and I will finally be able to get out there and start stitching her back together. We're one of the bazillion people in Michigan that's trying to sell their house right now so that's been eating up all of my Summer.

It is a candy custom mixed color. The stripes were done using a black base, then a couple different masts and a spray technique that only he knows how to do??? To see more go to my home page or www.tech9camaro.com.:thumbsup:
