Anyone here going to the cruise in at Somerset Kentucky July 28th? Should be around 1000+ cars there. I just got my room last night. If anyone here is thinking of going get a room now, I spent quite a while trying to find one! Check out www.somernitescruise.com for info on it. It should be great!
We'll be there shooting for V8TV - doing the cruise down from Cincinnati to Somerset. We'll see you on the road!

I will be there. Went last year and was very impressed with the turnout.
We're on our way back from the Somernights Cruise... it was an awesome event! They have a local cruise-in once a month in the downtown area followed by cruising on the main drag until Midnight. This time, they added the Power Cruise, where 4 different legs all met in Somerset, KY., in the downtown square. The last count I heard was 1700 cars!
This event was cool not just because there were tons of cars jammed into a historic town square, but because the people of Somerset are among the nicest in the world. They're almost too polite... everyone says hello, asks how you're doing, if you need anything, etc. It's a very welcoming event.
The cars in the downtown square are parked in all the main streets... it was similar to the old Mt. Clemens or Albuquerque Power Tour stops.
Cars ranged from early street rods to 50's customs to Musclecars and Pro-Touring to late model performance. A good showing of cool old and new trucks, too.
Along with shooting the cruise leg form Cincinnati, we shot a bunch of cool cars for V8TV, ranging from a '61 Bubbletop Impala, a '70 Corvette with a ZZ572 done sorta Pro-Touring-ish, and a bunch of other stuff. Later on, we shot some of the cruising crazyness out on the street, where thousands of people bring out lawn chairs and coolers and grills and line the streets for the street show.
Anyone interested in checking out a great event with lots of variety the encompasses a road trip, historic setting car show, and American-Graffiti style nightlife should check it out. We'll post a link to our video coverage when it's completed.

Made it to the show & back with only a missing alternator belt to say I had a breakdown. I can't complain.
I loaded up my pics & videos, dad's pics & videos to be loaded up later in the week. Enjoy!
