A proposed "Country Club" type road-course near me just passed the zoning and other BS on Monday, and is planned to have construction start next spring (I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm really hoping it happens!)

The problem I see is that the proposed membership is WAY out of reach for the average car-guy ($35,000 up front + $4,000/year after that  )

Do these types of tracks typically allow, or host events for the "public" to play, or will this be a rich-guy only affair?

It would be awesome to have a road-course less than an hour away from home rather than the nearest being 4+ hours away.

I'm sure LaMonza is doing that to cover startup costs and to give them equity that they can use to secure financing. They want to have 400 acres, and current prices are at least $4500/acre, then add the cost of the track itself, buildings, employees, insurance, etc.

I really hope that this thing takes off. A road course AND and dragstrip that's less than an hour away would be awesome.

Every time I hear "country club" and "track" in the same sentence, I can't help but envision Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight strapping in and dukin' it out.
