Less stock under the hood, I will follow this for sure and probably copy you.
I prefer to repair clean wires over messy fluid, I hate playing with hydrolic and I want a easy removable engine and this is a must in my eyes.

I also like simple things, if EPS is good enough for GM to put in production cars .... it's good enough for me!

Just got back from OPTIMA PPIR man what an event!!! I was not disappointed ... OLOA Camaro, couple c'velles, Dusold team, Jake Rozelle and family, and the Showtime team. Mr. Efrain Diaz was gracious enough to let me ride in his 69 during the road rally .... thank you Efrain, that made my whole weekend! Tom and Aaron brought the Chevelles down to beat on, Mr. Farrington can drive, wow! The last two sessions were canceled due to lighting strikes too close to the track!!!

So lots of sun, the smell of 100 octane and burning rubber ... what's not to like? Got to sit in the OLOA Camaro and see most of the cars I only see in magazines up close and personal. I got to talk with car guys, very nice car guys and I took some pics .... nothing fancy, just memories for me!

Anyway, here's some pictures, I'll post the rest on my Imageshack album!

to all the guys for talking to me, made some memories and some friends ... Thanks for the ride Efrain!

See you next year!

Cool Couple more pics!

My nephew and his girlfriend came down to PPIR on Sat and took some pics of me and Mr. Diaz during the road rally. Though I'd share the sh$t eating grin on my face!

Oh yeah, that's a good looking car too!

Glad you enjoyed it! Anyone that hasn't taken in one of these as a spectator -- or better yet - as a competitor doesn't know what they're missing. It's more than just the cars - it's all the folks you get to meet etc.

Greg you said it ... its the folks you met that make the memories! Talked with Jake about his car (he doesn't like the wrap cuz it's hard to clean), Tom Farrington and Aaron Oberle are fierce competitors but will shoot the breeze with you, Efrain Diaz let me ride shotgun during the road rally, and I got to talk with the folks at the OLOA Camaro garage and sat in THE CAR!

This weekend made my whole year, not like I was counting down the hours or anything. lol I won't miss another PPIR OPTIMA!

The results are posted, Jake took the win in GTV class, congrats to Mr Shipka getting the OUSCI invite, Tom and Aaron finished right behind the OLOA, and Efrain took a 3rd in the AutoX and the Design judging and tied w Aaron overall .... well done folks!

Michael

If it was anything like Charlotte I'm sure it was a blast! Hurry up and get your car done so you can play too! I wish I had the money to travel to more than one event a year with those guys, it was a great weekend for me.

Ron ... just riding in Efrain's car gets your blood pumping, now I just have to return the favor

Been searching the salvage yards for a column that was originally a floor shift car ... found a 68 Chevy convertible that donated it's column! Working on the logistics of the EPS and waiting for the controller box, found that the brake booster brace will have to be modified to fit the EPS under the dash and not interfere w brake actions.

Got the final location for the drivers header and tacked some angle to keep it's shape ... now time to work out the angles and dangles to make one header outa two pieces, wish me luck

It's doable!

Couple angle changes and some heat!!!!

My donated column ... yeah!

Well that's all for now, should be cutting and modifying the headers tomorrow and hopefully I'll get this side done this weekend ... then the other side!!!

Thanks for looking ...

Kevin ... I'm just using the collar on the floor shift vs the column shifted collar! I forgot about your column, thought you were using it?

You missed an awesome weekend at PPIR! You are running next year right?

Michael
