As I mentioned yesterday, here is a layout of what we did. As with everything in these builds, it is all about compromise. Could thing be done differently, absolutely. I tried to take a lot of the things discussed in this thread and others into account. I considered a fuel cell from ATL, but I wanted to used the Vaporworx system and couldn't come up with a solution that worked combining the 2. I just really So I tried to package this the best I could with the space available. Most likely we will also have a dedicated fire system in the truck as well as a hand held extinguisher. Anyway here is what we are doing. Happy to hear any comments.

You guys really have me thinking bout fuel tank safety although this thread is in the wrong section of the forum.

Moderator some help here?

1. Malleable cell to contain the fuel during a spill and resist punture in case of an impact.

2. No sharp edges in the halo surrounding the fuel cell.

3. Anti siphon type vents and a stopper for the feed line in case of a rollover.

4. Nobody has talked about it but you should have a motion switch that kills the fuel pump power supply like the OEMs use or an oil pressure switch that cuts power if you lose oil pressure.

My solution has 3 of three of the 4 elements.

Default Fuel Cell Location

In my case, since I had to have a spare tire for class rules, I had to get a little creative to put a large fuel cell back there as well.

Ever try and get a mounted 255 tire through a Camaro trunk opening ? My solution was to make a well for the spare :

And then mount the fuel cell up high in the trunk :

I like the idea of moving the tank above the rear axle. Will you be building a rear firewall in the cabin ?
