Default eGarage 1969 Camaro

Ben, of eGarage.com has teamed up with Nelson Racing Engines and the Roadster Shop to take the eGarage Camaro to the next level. The goal is to add much needed strength to the car to handle the monster 2,000 HP 572 twin turbo engine built by Tom Nelson. A custom Roadster Shop chassis was designed to add strength and rigidity to the car along with an integrated roll cage. Suspension will be our Fast Track IFS and IRS sporting Penske remote reservoir coilovers and Brembo brakes at all 4 corners. The car will be undergoing a complete mechanical transformation from the chassis to cooling system, to turbo and intercooler systems, to complete fuel system, and then some.

Build videos and interviews will be up soon on eGarage.com. In the mean time, check out their site for their truly unique and inspiring take on portraying collector, exotic, and custom cars; the owners, the builders, and the stories behind them.

As the car rolled in.

A work of mechanical art under the hood.

After analyzing the car and the build, it was decided that a custom perimiter chassis would be the best approach. The decision was made to widen the platform and build a chassis that would go out to the rocker panels. This would add strength and allow the body and the roll cage to be tied directly into the chassis. In order to do this, the stock floors would have to go.

The car was braced and the stock floor was then cut out.
