Default would an 18x8 fit on a first gen fire bird

Would an 18x8 wheel with 5.75" of back space and low profile tires fit on 68 fire bird? The firebird has a stock sub-frame with tubular upper and lower control arms and ls1 brakes. Out back the car has a stock 10 bolt with ls1 brakes.

I think 18x8s would fit with a 5" back spacing. I have 18x8s in the front with a 4.5 backspacing but on my 73 camaro. I also have 18x10s in the back with a 5.5 offset.

You've got about an extra 1" of backspace there. Usually a 4.75"-5" works well on an 8" for the front.
