Default used wheels?

might be a crazy question i dunno, but it seems to me that there must be perfectly good used wheels bouncing around some place. i did a little searching with google and checked the wanted and for sale threads to see what the talk was like here but i'm not seeing much. has anyone ever found or used a company that deals in used wheels? i mean, i bought my car and the first thing i wanted to do was get rid of the wheels for something different and i suppose plenty of peeps go through this with their own car after a few years of riding on the same wheels.

Im sure youll find plenty of used wheels that might work for you, getting ones with the right back space might be harder. Im all for looking for used stuff if ya can find it. Buying used wheels only worries me a little. Im always wondering if theyve hit any big pot holes with them.

yeah that's my thinking too with the pot hole deal. if they came off a similar car then i think it would be safer ... someone who babies their car. then again *shrugs* they may have been racing on them too. i'm hoping someone knows a place or has bought used wheels through some sort of dealer before.

Some of the best places to look for used wheels are in the old school "trader" style papers that are at gas stations and the like. Be careful there is a lot of stolen stuff in there.

And you have to realize that just like rotors and such wheels are a wear item.

Another good place to look is EBAY. As always, be careful, and know what you are bidding on, but there are defintely treasures to be found on ebay. What kind of wheels are you looking for? Alot of new wheels out there can still be had for cheap. For example, this wheel I just put on a GN.
These were 18's and were 700 bucks. 17's are even less:
