Default LT1 swap - Cooling System?

95 Caprice LT1 in '69 Chevelle

Would it be best for me to re-use as much of the Caprice cooling system as possible, or can I keep the Chevelle radiator?

How much does this reverse-flow cooling mess up the rest of my set-up? It appears I need a pressurized expansion-tank separate from the radiator. (and supposedly needs to be higher than the heads. Any tips on what to use for this? The stock impala one is pretty ugly.

I'm also interested in how the Camaro system works, since its reservoir is hidden under the battery.

Unless you plan on hooking up the oil cooler and all the other little things that attach to the Caprice rad, I would keep the one you got or buy aftermarket. The fun part is finding the right hoses to hook it all up. Street and performance has a good article on installing a LT-1 in a Camaro. Same principles will apply to your Chevelle.
