Default Announcing Project Re-Peeled: Brought to you by D & Z Customs- Lots of Pics

Due to time constraints and Randy's own admission of computer illiteracy, I am posting this project announcement on his behalf....

Announcing Project Re-Peeled:
Brought to you by D & Z Customs

After much success with our ’66 Chevelle, we decided to up the anty with the rebirth of an older project car and bring it up to date. Project Orange Peeler was a project car that we built in 1998 and was Featured in Car Craft Magazine of that same year. After selling the car, I found myself in a world of regret. After 7 years the car was again available. After buying it back the intent was just to keep as it was and remember those days. But a turn of events came up after talking with Marc Prince, new owner of Heidts Hot Rods and Muscle Cars, at the Second Peak Chicagoland Nationals Good Guys show in Joliet Il, the Project “Re-Peeled” was born. In a partnership with Marc, the project will be running a Heidts subframe and suspension, subframe connectors and the prototype Super Ride IRS that will be available through Heidts as a complete bolt in kit for 2nd Gen F bodies. The motor will be a stout 6.0 L LS (LQ4) based motor with custom cam from Crane Cams and will incorporate a new supercharger from Vortech. Behind that will be a T-56 6-speed transmission. This car will also be using a new cooling system from BeCool. The rolling stock are 18” Forgelines FS 3P wrapped in Nitto’s new NT-05’s. To stop the meats will be using the Wilwood 6 piston brakes in front and Wilwood 4 pistons in the rear. The interior will be caged and a simple functional interior will be represented by Autometer Gages, Hurst Shifter, Ididt column, Grant Steering wheel and Cerullo seats. This is inteded to be driven for the 2009 Power tour so Vintage Air will be keeping the cabin cool. Other that Power Tour, we are planning to bring this car out to many events this year and thrash on it on the Auto-X. Some of the events planned so far are Good Guys in Columbus, Joliet, Hot Rod Power Tour, and Car Craft Nationals. Thanks to all of our sponsers for all their help to make this project possible.

Keep us posted.
The car originally came from California, but there are still little areas to fix.

I worked with the engineers at Heidts to develop the brackets & mounting pieces. I can't wait to get out on the track & see how well it will all work.
