Big time fan of the '69 Camaro since I first saw them in 1968. But the unique styling aspects of the '69 T/A 'Birds really give them a leg up on the Camaro's IMO. No surprise takeoffs on the '69 T/A's are becoming more and more popular. Watching your creative build with a lot of interest.

Oh yeah, , didn't think I would ever see this day, this project has drawn on and on because of other restorations I have had. Here is a link to the one I just finished, not exactly a G-machine but it pays the bills. http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=87621
I just finished the last one I have in line and now I have to get this thing done so I can take it to some shows next spring.
Glad to have color. not the color I had in mind but I can work with it. The pics don't make the yellow look as good as it does, it is the same color as the new Camaro. I plan on some 3 tone silver stripes on the hood and over the top to the trunk, not your typical racing stripes, kinda hard to explain so I will just have to show you, I hope to have something figured out by the end of the week, maybe. I already sprayed the dash and firewall semi-gloss black, I will get pics later. I have to spray clear tomorrow and then we will scuff and lay the stripes out and then 4 more coats of clear. I will get the other parts going into color next week. here are the pics
Nice work on the 'bird! I looked at the other site and read through the rets on the IH. WOW! Nice job on that too. I always wanted one of those Scouts. I do a lot of bird (grouse) hunting in the mountains and they are great rigs for the areas I go to.
Keep the pics and updates coming!
Since I started this build in the introductions forum I thought I would stroll down memory lane for those watching this thread, It is nice to go back and see the progress and remind myself of how crazy I am. It is also funny to think about building my new shop and moving down there, a little nicer place to work!
I originally tried to talk my brother into blue but he insisted on yellow, here is the rendering of the back I did in blue, still looks better.
I will post more progress tonight, just forgot my camera at the shop.
I have color and clear on all parts except the wing. I will be laying down stripes this next week after assembly to make sure it all looks good together. Then one final breakdown and more clear.
The speedtech front frame and all the goodies should be coming next week too.
later
Nice build I like the yellow. My buddy had a 69 Firebird back in the early 70's. It was yellow with a black vinyl top and Cragar wheels it was a beautiful car. This one is going to be sweet in yellow.
