Default Tires to maximize braking

I love my hydroboost and now want to increase my tires' abilities to brake. I can get 245/50-16 in a Toyo RA1 or 255/50-16 in a Nitto N01 to replace my Firstone's. Appreciate comments/experiences/insights. Even with some practice it's too easy to lock the fronts in an emergency or surprise situation.
