Pretty excited to finally see my thoughts on paper!! Ben Hermance is fantastic; he took my thoughts and molded them into what works. I appreciated our interactions, his ability to take my words/sketches and put to paper all with a keen eye, I think has resulted in good looks and functionality all of which is buildable from my shop. Not sure on exact color yet, that's a decision for later this year but having the body mods solidified was a great step forward.

Love the renderings! The 3rd gen GTA style spoiler flows nicely. Good luck!

I vote purple for the color.

Is there any reason you chose to stretch the car rather than just enlarge the flares other than for personal taste and preference?

When you stretch the car as you've done the donor section you added from the quarter skin is cut to be longer than the actual cutout in the quarter panel in the car so it bubbles. Is that right?

Thanks guys! Looking forward to building the spoiler, I worked at a race shop during college, we built most of the top fuel funny car bodies of that era. We had an 86' TA from Pontiac that we used for building the Skoal Bandit body the Prudhomme ran. Used that spoiler idea and built one for my 84, always liked the style over the 84. Will do the same concept here and see if it actually looks right on the second gen, if so I will make a mold, if not, will scrap the idea and go with the traditional spoiler.

Steve Lenning and John(Better grow a mullet) were the creators of this idea for me. I morphed their designs to fit my goal of not having to make any pie cuts in the fender...I was worried that I would F'up the natural curves of the fender if I had to seam it back together. I only cut the fender at the center body lines while mocking it up and saw that I could get the fender very close without the pie cuts. It did result in the rear tail being about 1" wider than stock and it did kick out the bottom of the fender behind the tire about 1 1/2"". However, I did widen my rear track width to match the front (74 5/8") so the rear end being a little wider actually helps to lessen the tire sticking out and I liked the look and felt it would work with the changes to the rear bumper area and the spoiler, so I committed. The pics here don't show it very well because I cut the rear of the fender off, it will go back on soon. I didn't do that on the drivers side (working on now). I will post pics soon.
