The roof panels on the Z06 and ZR-1 are not removable. I don't remember exactly why, since the GS is the same Dana chassis, but it had something to do with crash protection on the faster cars. Shrug. Ask Stielow.

On the ZR1, it's a CF piece like the hood. Not sure why the Z06 is fixed.

SW. You want to turn up the wayback dial... do you remember the "car show" at the Antique Mall in Round Rock next to Whataburger. How about hanging at Super Shops. Then there were the "car show" events at the Home Depot on 1431 in Cedar Park. I liked those shows, very informal. I'm trying to recall a car I saw you to drive to the Antique Mall show. Was it a Pro Street '69 Camaro or something similar? I'm starting to feel old, I think that was in the 90's. It has been 9 years now since I moved to Dallas, last time I talked to you was probably at one of the Home Depot shows. Time flies.

It's actually related to the aluminum frame of the z06 and zr1 vs steel on the base models I believe. Combined with the requirement for higher rigidity on the performance variants.

As a note, the c7's all use an aluminum frame, and the z06's have removable roofs (and even a convertible).

Oh, and love the zr1, great choice, and one hell of a collection.

How does a 600+HP factory car feel when you stab the throttle? Or any modern high HP Porsche, McLaren etc.?

Is it as "wild" that it feels in an older car? Or is everything so smooth that it dampens the speed feel?

-I especially like that you have 3 Firebirds!

Thanks, yes the newer cars with paddle shifts ect are easier and smoother to drive, but I still love the older cars. They give me a feel I cannot get with these "newer" technology cars..

Yes, we are having some crazy flooding from all this rain we have had. Luckily, most of us are good!
