Default 1/2" -> M12 studs

I have a moser rear end that uses 1/2"-20 wheels studs. My DSE front end uses M12 x 1.5 wheel studs.

The issue I ran into is that my lug nuts aren't long enough to fully seat on the rear wheel studs as they are quite long. I started looking for open-ended lug nuts but the majority of the options are all offered in M12 only.

So my question is... should I:

a) buy shorter wheel studs
b) cut the studs I have
c) press in M12 studs in the rear (not sure if they press into the same size hole?)

The plus side for changing to M12 is it would allow the use of the same lugnuts for the entire car. I'm not sure if the stud change to M12 matters with my wheels though...

Default

Measure the knurl of the 1/2 studs, and then switch em over to 12mm to match the fronts. Easy to so if the knurl is the same diameter
