Default 36 chevy truck

Figured i'd start a thread on my 36 chevy truck project. This truck is being built to play in the mountain roads, maybe some possible track days for fun, and just an all around truck to hoon around in.

Custom built frame with rollcage, suspension based of c6 geometry, twin turbo v8/auto, big brakes, etc....

Heres where I'm at on the frame. Still need to do some fish plates on the joints. I'll be drawing up brackets for the control arm mounts next week and hopefully stabbing the motor and trans into place so i can get the mounts/crossmembers fabbed up. Wanting to send the motor/trans out asap to the machine shop to get built for the twin turbo setup to minimize downtime.

I'll be notching out the cab so it sits even on the frame rails.

I love the older iron, it'll be fun watching this come together! Are you planning on full fenders?.....please say yes.

Sorry to dissapoint but no fenders. I hadnt planned on it when i first started this build. But the full bodied truck look has grown on me since starting. As far as body panels Ill just be running the 36 low cab, a 34 truck grill, and a truck bed made from scratch. Interior wise im having a few carbon fiber interior panels made. I wanted something very basic bodywork wise but on the extreme side of performance. Really hoping to get control arm backetry done and welded on and control arms built real soon so i can have a rolling chassis to look at.

Lots of parts ordering the past few days and not much work unfortunately. Hoping this weekend I'll be able to get the motor and transmission mounted so i can get started on the sheet metal on the cab. Hoping to get wheels powdercoated tomorrow morning and get the tires mounted and check that off the list.

Front rotors arrived, I'll be slowly piecing the brake setup together as I find deals.

I should have my new oilpan tomorrow so I can finish mounting the engine and transmission into the frame. Oil pan is roughly 1.5" too deep and didnt allow the trans pan to sit flat on the table. Trying to have everything sit flat with the frame rail.

Still waiting on my collectors to be finished and shipped which should be in the next few days and then i'll have everything to start the manifolds.

Love the theme of this project. Would like it more with fenders. With no fenders it might give the impression of a T-bucket?

Made some temporary caster/frame stands to get the frame on the ground until i get the suspension and wheels mounted. It was time to get the frame off the table to make future work easier. Pretty happy with how my 1st frame came out though. Need to finish the transmission crossmember still. Just purchased a zl1 rear diff so hopefully i can get some sort of cool billet aluminum mount setup drawn up and machined.
