Default Lead in 1/4 panel

I have a 41000 original mile 70 Chevelle should I remove the lead in the sail panel and weld it up? I have it stripped in that area the lead looks good. If I need to melt it out what should I use to put back in there. I here reviews both ways- take it out, leave it alone!! Thanks for any help.

Why are you considering removing it? Are you replacing the quarters? Maybe I'm missing something in your post, but if not I'd leave it in there.

I am not replacing the 1/4. Just didn't know if I would have probles down the road after paint with seeing shrinkage or anything else. I stripped the paint there but the lead looks good I guess I would sand it then a skim wipe.

If you didn't notice any problems around the seam before stripping ,I'd leave it alone.
