That's right, you can use your current GM 10/12 Bolt rear-end housing, NO welding & simple installation!

Advantages:
  • Bolts to GM 10/12 Bolt housing end / brake flange (except Impala or Truck)(Big Ford application also available! https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=49657 )
  • Eliminates the weak/dangerous factory c-clip axles
  • Reduces/eliminates brake “knockback”
  • Eliminates axle deflection
  • Wheel & tire remains intact should an axle failure occur
  • Front or Rear Caliper / E-Brake Cable Positions
  • Utilizes the robust, zero maintenance C6/C7 ZO6 Hub Bearing Unit
  • Utilizes OEM C5/C6/C7 Corvette, and 5th/6th Gen Camaro brake kits
  • Utilizes aftermarket C5/C6/C7 Corvette, and 5th/6TH Gen Camaro brake kits
  • Utilizes your existing BAER / WILWOOD caliper & rotor (some restrictions apply)
  • Super compact design compared to traditional style full floaters
  • All advantages of a traditional style full floater without the maintenance
  • Replacement parts available at local GM dealer or local parts house
  • No modifications required to the hub bearing unit as other kits in the marketplace
Note: this applications will add 1/16″ per side to your existing wheel mount surface (based on an existing 2.810″ axle/brake offset)

Fitment: OEM 10/12 Bolt Rears: 67-81 Camaro, 64-72 Chevelle, 64-74 Nova

Very interesting kit. I haven't come across this product until joining this forum. I take it, this also changes the bolt pattern to late GM metric pattern?

Very cool. This is a nice product to match for the guys running CPP or Speedtech spindles with the corvette front hubs on early GM subframes. DSE and AME cars also use the corvette hub up front as well. With many people chasing down LS engines, corvette brakes and late model wheels, this is an interesting product to see.

Good stuff!

I just noticed you have 2 axle styles.

For the full floater style, are those black caps with the set screws and o-rings holding the axle and fluid it?

Is there any reason to run one style of axle over the other?

You are correct T_Raven. The billet aluminum Hub Cap Seal pictured in all of the Hybrid Floater Kits does in fact retain the full float style axle as well as seals any diff fluid from escaping.

Both axles ultimately act/perform the same. Some folks may prefer GM/OEM type design/technology, while others may prefer a more traditional style full floater axle.
The full float style axle is more cost effective so may be the deciding factor for most..

Great question and thanks for asking.

Default Great product!

Jay, awesome product! Got the kit put on my housing and then decided to detail the hubs so I took it all apart again ...

Here's some pics of my install with the caliper forward of the axle which places the parking brake access to the rear which would lengthen the cables to enter from behind the axle .... then this idea came to me!!!

Swap the parking brake adjuster/ lever and the parking brake cable bracket from right to left and have the parking brake access in the front now!!!

Any reason this would NOT work? Since I have them apart to detail I'm going to mock it up!

Michael

Cool

Well this idea bugged me all last nite ... so I got up at o dark thirty and got to work swapping the sides and ... it seems to me that it will work! Please chime in if you see something that I don't but it looks like the angle of the dangle on the cable bracket will work!

FYI ... for redneckery ideas on getting the hub bolts torqued to 94 ft/lbs when both pieces rotate, just stand the wheel up and use the bar to stop the rotation! Just a thought ... hope it helps!

Ok now I have to take it back apart and Loctite and torque all the bolts.

Michael
