Default Ford toploader / clutch help

Took the mustang out for a spirited drive last week and awoke today to a funky feeling in the clutch. When I depress the pedal it feels like it has two engagements and makes a noise? It does he same when I depress.. it doesnt feel like it's slipping but almost feels like it's binding.

I've wanted to do a hydraulic conversion for some time, I've seen the "driveline conversion kits" and they all seem pretty complete. Is there any one brand that is more complete or better than the others?

Also what are people using for clutches these days? I know a few years back all my mustang buddies had spec clutches typical stage 3 that worked well.

The car is primarily a road course car with lite weekend driving.

Thoughts / suggestions

I'd check linkage first. Do you still have stock-type z-bar clutch linkage? Is it connected to the block? Is it sloppy on the other side of the firewall? That stuff was made to disintegrate and feel cruddy. Make sure the problem isn't something far less serious (than the clutch) first.
