Default ExtReme '56 F100

Hey all, we've got some cool things happening in the Speedtech Rod Shop, one of which is a new project we're pretty excited about. If you all remember Bentley's super clean '68 Nova we did a couple years ago, (Click Here for more Nova Pics) well we're back at it with another project to fill his garage.

The Nova had some real sentimental value, Bentley's dad had a red '68 when he was younger and so he wanted to build one like it, only a pro Touring version, for himself. The F100 on the other hand wasn't something he really thought much of owning, it just sort of happened to fall into his hands.

Now, you all have seen the fantastic performance we were able to get out of our honest street truck ExtReme chassis'ed '67-72 C10, and Bentley's got similar performance expectations for his fat fendered ride. Much like Darwin's survival of the fittest concept, we feel the same about our ExtReme products and yet another opportunity to adapt and evolve into something better has presented itself. With that said, Bentley's F100 will become the predecessor to a new line of ExtReme 50's F100 Chassis systems!

As you can see we're starting with what looks to be a mild maybe early 90's local car show level build that got some blingy 20" wheels slapped on it somewhere along the way. Besides looking a bit outdated, there are some areas where the body work is falling apart and rust is starting to form. Little things like weatherstrip etc. are also starting to fall apart. Bentley's got a little different taste than the salmon pink earlier days vibe, so I'm currently working on the refreshed new look rendering, and will have this truck's vision posted soon. Bookmark the page and follow along as we completely rebuild this ol' grass sittin' at the car show grandpa into a lean and mean serious street machine!

Yep it's a Ford. It'll be all GM drivetrain underneath though so we're doing our part to unite the world in friendship and tolerance. Lol!

I was informed today that it may not be a '56. I asked the owner but he wasn't sure, he's still waiting on the title. When I googled 56 F100 I found some pics with this somewhat unique grill so I based the suggested year off that. Anyone savvy with these trucks and know the differences between the different 50's models? Might be some good trivia conversation as I work out the rendering details.

Yes the wheels likely were. Now folks would probably say they look like..., well you know.

You can see a 56 from space once you know what you are looking for. The windshield wraps around the A pillar and the vent windows are rectangular instead of triangular. There is also a small and big back window version of that one year only cab.

That truck appears to be a '54.

Here is a 56 with nearly as awesome wheels.

The best part about those wheels... aluminum recycles.

Well we've got the old boy torn down and ready for media blasting. So far looks like not too much rust and body work to deal with, however we all know the media blaster doesn't lie so we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Included in these pics are a focus on where body mods will be taking place. We have more photos on our webpage photo gallery, Click Here ---> Bentley's 55 F100
