So is mark keeping "jackass", or selling it and focusing on the new build . The 2.0 updates to it will make it feel like a new car !

The car has a super cool original paint with a DX1 strip. The two super long lead things on a build are paint and engine builds. So I thought why not do a pintina car with a crate engine. I have been able to drive a bunch on LT4 powered GM vehicles and love the way that engine works. The ZL1 fixed all the cooling issues and that car hauls and does not get hot.

This car is for fun and not an effort to win Optima. I had a great run at Optima but I'm done chasing it for now.

I will add a build tread on this project after it runs on line or in print in CHP.

I feel the LT4 will be a popular swap soon. There are a few tech issue to work out and I'll publish / post them when I sort it out. The original build will be a stock LT4 but we are already looking at performance mods.

Mark
Thx for the update, it does seem curious that there hasn't been a lot of builds to reference regarding an LT4 crate install as it has been out for a while now.

I know of the Ironworks Fairway Camaro and the Forgeline 2nd Gen and another 1st gen over at Smittys Custom Chris is working on incorporating the LT4 - but so far no real world post install drivability results. I wonder if the cooling issues in the Corvette or these tech issue you speak off has put a damper on more projects incorporating the LT4.Tell the other Jason to stay away from this one lol

Default Chevy High Performance

Sorry for no updates.

This build-up is in Chevrolet High Performance in print and on line in Super Chevy.

Here are a couple shots as it sits right now.

Thrashing to get it ready for Motorstate Challenge July 21.

I am not a Chevy guy but I like where this is going after reading your update.

This shows a normal guy what can be accomplished with hard work, and almost all off the shelf parts from what i am reading. I think a guy like me could do something like this within his means.

Very cool!

Thank you!

Car looks great as always.

Now I am not sure which car I will like more your new 69 or Gordon's 67.

Quick question on the ABS is it a stand alone system that anyone can buy or are you piecing it together with your knowledge of the system ?

Was wondering the same thing. I think this is the part that the average guy does not have access to. And likely never will due to liability concerns.
