I'm looking for a better set of brake pads to replace the ones that came with the SSBC rear conversion kit. They said they are the same size that came on 87-88 thunderbird turbo coupe. No idea what kind came in the kit but I would like to find some with a bit more grip to keep up with the front brakes.
Anybody got any suggestions or part numbers for me? It would be greatly appreciated.
So after more research I have a choice between the Hawk HPS and the Poterfield R4S pads. I need good grip at low heat levels for street use but something that won't fade if heated up( I do track the car occasionally). I don't care much about pad wear but don't want to have to replace the rotors if I don't have to( apparently they're proprietary and I have to buy them from SSBC).
Have a local machine shop machine the rotors with the finest finish possible - some of the latest brake lathes also finish up with a special hone that allows the new pads to bed in very quickly.
