Default Cabinets

Hello all,

Just curious if anyone has recommendations for shop cabinets.

What I'l looking for is metal ones that lock, hang on the wall and have storage in the doors as well as in the cabinet.

My ideal cabinet would have multiple layers that are perforated so I can put in tool hangers.

Ideas? What have you been happy with?

Thanks!

I picked up some old kitchen cabinets and they work fine. One of these days, I'll get around to painting them black.

I'm planning on getting Saber steel cabinets. NewAge is also really popular.

Not quite what you wanted, but I have a few of these.. They go on sale several times a year, from $240 down to $99, so a very good value. They have a magnet to keep them closed which is nice.. They also lock.

I just did my whole garage with Gladiator cabinets, Gearwall, a large roll around cabinet, shelves and hooks. It was expensive but worth every penny. It also allows me the option to reconfigure the location of the cabinets and shelves as needed, which I have done several times.

If you go the gladiator route, go to Lowe's and they will price match and you get an additional 5% if you use your Lowe's card. They will also give you an additional 10% if they stock the item.

I use these cabinets. I have 4 of these in my shop.

They are available at Sam's Club for $209. The have large casters for easy movement around your shop and you can buy additional shelves through the Seville website. They are easy to assemble, they have a magnet that keeps the doors closed while unlocked and the shelves are really made well and sturdy. They make macthing wall cabinets and tool boxes as well.

Here's a couple of pictures of my work in progress. Plan is to paint the Cabinets black and then fill the wall between the work top and the cabinets with either a peg board or stainless. At some point (hopefully before the car is back) I plan to paint the garage.

The top is a just an $80 counter top from Lowes placed on top of some Craftsmans rolling tool boxes (wheels removed) that I picked up from the SEARS Outlet store for $143ea. Gives me plenty of storage and I still have the Roll Around.

Curtis, That looks great! Very functional and not too expensive.
Nice art work as well!

I have a rusty flat 1st gen hood that I wanted to hang up, but there isn't room for it, so it will head over to Jeffs shop once it's done.
