It's been almost two weeks and hasn't done any of the rough idling. I'm fairly certain it was those gaskets.

I don't have a smoke machine, but it was only $17 bucks for gaskets and a little over an hours work, so I rolled the dice. It would have been nice to use a smoke machine just to know for sure that was the issue though.

Now I'm thinking my truck(2000 5.3L) might need a new set as well. Sometimes it studders a bit when first starting up.

I think I have smoked roughly 30-50 of them, and only 2 haven't needed gaskets. If you know someone who smokes, just have them puff one into the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line. Not quite as efficient as a machine, but usually will do the trick. Then again, for $20, it's hardly worth it. They are so easy to do.

Keep an eye on your knock sensors and harness, they often break the wire right above the seal. I usually pop the seal and wire off, the rear sensor is often corroded and prone to failure. Of course, you can always just pull the intake again if they go out.
