Default Hello. 69 Firebird owner

Hello everyone. I’ve been lurking on this website for many, many years and finally made time to share my project. It’s a 1969 Firebird that I’ve had since I was 15.

The car came from the factory with a 6cyl, Cameo White paint, and blue interior. When purchased it had a very used 350 and a TH350 and led a rough life as a drag car. In my book, the factory white/blue combo and neglected state made it the perfect candidate to become a Trans Am clone. Overall, it’s been a labor of love, but I am slowly getting closer to finishing the restoration. Plans are to autocross & cruise this thing.

Enough words, here are some pics:

^When I bought it in '06.^

^In it's current state.^

Looking forward to meeting you guys and starting a build thread!

I plan on installing my fresh 400, restoring the interior, rebuilding the rear end, and addressing suspension. It has some hotchkis components installed on it currently, but nothing too fancy. Just springs.

When I started looking at pro-touring rides back in '06 they were pretty simple. Now, the builds have stepped it up a couple notches. Since I'm cheap, I will be sticking to the simple but effective route. I just want to autocross it locally once in a while and cruise it.
