Cutting out rust:

Ordered new sheetmetal, steering box and other misc parts. FedEx and UPS drivers are going to know my house by heart for the next few months.

Mocked up the motor to see if I had clearance issues with the oil pan and crossmember. The motor mounts and plates that came with the car were not for a LS swap. Luckily Philip, CENCALC6, had a set of energy suspension mounts and LS plates he hooked me up with. The motor fits like a charm with the correct setup.

I bolted the trans up to see where the tailshaft mount lined up, and I'm going to use the BMR trans crossmember. A factory cross member was used previously and it caused the tailshaft to point upwards. I read the 4L60E pan should be at zero degrees when installed.

Front coils and new steering components installed

I'd say this is overkill to patch the factory shifter hole....LOL!

BMR Trans Crossmember showed up. Its a really nice piece, for the money, with tons of adjustability.

Body work is coming along and hopefully the car will be in primer this week.

Thanks Greg! Not the caliber of your cars (envious), but I want to make sure the car is mechanically sound and fun to drive.
