Default michelin vs continental

Option A
Continental Extreme contact for $656

or

Option B
Michelin Pilot Super sport for $992

my car will be 99% street driven.

let me know what you think.

I had both on an M3 - the continental are just as good for 90% of street driving. The Michelin may offer slightly better grip, but I doubt most people would even notice - I'm not even certain they do.

On a mostly street driven car, I'd say go with the conti. If you end up tracking or auto crossing regularly, I'd suggest investing in a set of r-compounds. Night and day difference between even the cheapest r-compound and the best street tire (e.g., michelin).

I run the Conti on my mostly street driven '02 Firehawk and have liked this tire much better then a Kumho tire that I had before that. For mostly street driven I think it would be very difficult to tell the difference. Is the car driven everyday? If you put a lot of miles on then the value of the Conti really starts to play a large role.

Although Michelins are nice, I had a set of Conti's on my daily driven and fell in love with them. I've always heard of the Conti brand, but never knew much about them versus the ever so popular Michelin brand that everyone in two universe's knows about. I was in the exact same boat as you...torn between Michelin and a slightly more appeasing price of the Conti brand. Decided on going with the Conti and would not hesitate to buy another set for my daily driven. I say go with the Conti as well.

michelin for sure.

on my '15 Z06 that sees 1k/mo of street driving, the michelins feel so much better in terms of grip and stability. cant wait to run through these continentals so i can swich back to the stock michelin super sports
