My Dad and I strapped in my 13 year old Daughter and she got 5 straight runs in the car. She will drive this car once she is 16. She can't wait!
Here is a photo of Grandpa giving his Grand Daughter a ride.
I was flipping through this thread and I noticed this gem. Posted by you a little over 3 years ago.... Your daughter was 13 then and you said she'd drive it as soon as she was 16... So.....

My Daughter, Jennifer, has not driven the Camaro or Corvette YET. I purchased a 1993 Miata for her to practice driving and learning a manual transmission. I lowered it, put sticky tires on it, added a roll bar. She started autocrossing just two weeks after she got her drivers permit at 15 1/2. Between school, 4.0 GPA , and her full time soccer, we have been able to squeeze in some autocross weekends.
Most first time autocrossers start off slow and have to build their confidence up to go fast. Jennifer, like me, started off too fast out of the gate and I have had to slow her down in the corner entry to get a good corner exit. I am a very proud Dad and she is progressing nicely. I still think that she will be in the Corvette and Camaro before she is 17. She will start in the Corvette first as it is a bit easier to drive.
Here she is at a recent event:
This is a video of Jennifer on her 3rd ever autocross run 2 weeks after getting her drivers permit at 15 1/2.
That's great! It's good to hear you're passing the knowledge onto another generation. What's the biggest tires anybody has put on a miata..... I know a few people that have put LS1 drive trains in. That could be a stepping stone for her.
How did you attach the lexan spoiler to the factory one? I'm wanting to do something similar with mine, but I dont have much faith that the factory plastic spoiler is strong enough to bear the kind of loads that would result.

My deck lid is a VFN fiberglass part that was reinforced. I installed nutserts on the back side. The spoiler is 10 inches tall and I have been up to 152 mph with no issues.
