He also said you can cut the hoop down if you want to lower it a little in the car for clearances for headliner and welding up the down bars.

Yes, I did use the DSE template for the package tray. It would have been much easier without the rear glass, but I managed to get it done.
The instruction did say to tack the down bars, and remove the whole unit outside the vehicle to finish welding.
