Also built mine myself, the gear puller is a must, I chipped the 5th and 6th gear set when I tore mine apart. I ordered the complete bearing and syncro kit. Mine came out of the New Orleans flood, you could actually see the water line on the inside of the trans. A little Naval Jelly, new bearings, stronger shift fork for 3 and 4, I think, and new syncro's. Trans works flawlessly. Oh yea, I did replace the 5th and 6th gear set, naturally the most expensive.
I'm a machinist, so a lot of this came natural, but I had never built one before I tackled this, downloaded the manual off the internet, about 40 something pages of step by step instructions. Try it!
